The morning stillness, the quiet before the dawn is such a precious time. But before the work comes time to embrace the day. I enjoy the stillness of the day, when not only are house mates still sleeping but the neighborhood still a slumber. Yes, it has health benefits for me and it also helps me in my preparation to make money online in my business.

 I guess over the years I’ve learned as well to be night owl. When everyone goes to bed and stillness is in the neighborhood, I find that my mind clears, stress level lowers and well, to be honest, the world isn’t trying to get a hold of me to do something, fix something or save the world. Only my early mornings and late nights give me the freedom to be creative.

You certainly have noticed if you start your day in a bad mood, then normally the day doesn't flow wll. So how you start each day can also set the tone of the day to follow. After a good wake up shower I find that starting with a spot of tea and morning prayers sets things right. Often some time is then spent in contemplation, meditation, journaling and then my yoga practice.

Yes it takes some time but it is time well spent. Afterwards, a light breakfast that does not include sugar or coffee and I’m ready to embrace the day and all that comes with it. To be honest, when I break my own routine my day never goes as smoothly. I pay dearly for letting myself or others throw me off track.

I make a point of doing everything I can to not have a rushed morning and because of that philosophy I can often get more done before many are out of bed than those who jump up and dash off to work with a cup of coffee in one hand and a sweet roll in the other.
There is a magic about Sun Rise – a time of power, of freshness and new beginnings. A Glorious days is beginning be it snow and wind, a gray drizzle or sun peeking though the sky. I breathe deeply with my yoga and give thanks for the blessings of each day. It may sound corny but for me it is a recipe that works. I can count on it.

When being in business for myself other people seem to assume that I can always stop whatever I’m doing and just jump to some take they want done but they never would have asked such a request if I’d been on a JOB. Ugh, give me my own home business with the ability to make money online. This is my life and I am the captain of my ship. Just the way I like it. That way my mind is working in a positive way on a plan while I sleep.

If I didn't take this time each morning and evening to center myself, to do my prayers, meditaation and yaga, I'm quite sure that my success would be limited. In part two on blogging, let’s take a deeper look at what might help you get started or to upgrade what you are already doing. Do you have a home based business that is looking for a reasonable income opportunity? If so, blogging very likely will be one of your outreach methods.

Start with a Plan OR if you have already started; think about reworking your blog for maximum effect.

Be clear on what you are going to write about and why. Keep your interest and subject narrowed down if you want a good readership. If you are all over the map as far as subject, Google spiders don’t like it and most people subscribe to a blog because of the subject or topic.

People love photos so if it is appropriate for your blog, grab your camera or Google Search for FREE photos and dress up your blog for effect. Make sure the photos are appropriate for the subject matter.
Google Search is a great way to look at all kinds of blogs to get a good idea of what you like. What type of blog, colors, fonts, and etc hold your eye and which do you just click on by. Keep a little note book for your references. It will help as you build your blog.
Once you have a subject you would be wise to do a key word search for just the right name. Again your job is to make those Google spiders happy. Have no more than 6 key word phases for your blogs. Not every blog will have all of them, but make sure most of them do. And YES, make sure your name is one of the key word phrases. Remember the part about wanting your name to be a household word and branding yourself. This is critical for any home based business.

Also suggest go to www.google.com and get a Gmail account. Then match your email name, to the blog name and then to key words for your blog. That is good when you take the time to put it all together that way. But if not, then just do the best you can and stay on one basic subject theme.

Income Opportunity and Home Based Business - Activity Management part 2

And How Balanced is YOUR Home and Business Life?

In a previous article I discussed the need for Activity Management and the benefits it has on de-stressing your life. You must learn to organize your business life and home life in balance or failure will loom over your head. No one has success in any income opportunity if they can't balance their life and business. Today is a great day to start getting organized. What use is a Home Based Business if you are driving yourself to exhaustion and frustration? If you truly are going to work towards that Income Opportunity then being disciplined and organized is a must. I suggest you look back to article part 1 on Activity Management.

A Google Search on Importance of Activity Management can lead you to most everything you need to know. The secret, yes the secret is to use this information on a consistent basis. That leads to business success and Income Opportunity.

First: ONE system that carries all your information in it and I mean everything! I’m going to address the regular person, not the techno jocks which keep up with everything from buying stocks to having a cell phone of sorts beep you when it’s time to buy your mother a birthday present.

You will have to piece together your own system because at this time there is not one available to meet all your needs. Get a zippered Day-Timer of sorts (zippered so really important things don’t fall out). There are three sizes most common, tiny if you have almost nothing going on in your life to manage, medium size and the semi brief case size. I use the Medium Size and have for yours for my home based business.

You need a yearly calendar, monthly calendar showing all seven days of the week (I like the columns going down am to pm, not the squared ones. Daily work pages (left side is the schedule for the day and on the right side you make a list of things to do). Think carefully and write your primary goal. Hand writes it out EVERY DAY, your primary goal for the day and a place to list those things that are scheduled to be accomplished.

Now have a section for an ongoing to do list that everything gets placed on to, except for a separate section for buying groceries. So this ongoing list might have: finish tax preparation, sign kids up for summer camp, call someone, reschedule the date for party, write 5 new blog posts, check back office of web site and contact 5 new people for support, etc. This list gets everything that crosses your mind. NO exceptions. Have column for making a date if it must be done by a certain time. Also prioritize them. Note what things can be cancelled, delegated or put of until appropriated time.

For those things that take multiple tasks, for example plan wedding for Mary: Start a page with the heading ‘Wedding for Mary’ and then start making an ongoing list of everything that will need doing, using the same system as above.

Have a place for Address and email, possibly pass codes, etc. Have a section for taking notes; some folks need a section for clients and your ongoing work with them.

Personalize your system to meet your needs. Everyone has different needs.

Now tie it together. EVERY NIGHT, yes NIGHT, so it settles into your consciousness while you sleep. Do two things; Review what you did accomplish that day. Take note, did you overbook yourself, are you in balance? Some things you will decide are priority and move to next days to do sheet and others you will realize just are not that important. Delegate, Cancel or put on the back burner what you need too. Congratulate yourself for your growing success.

Look at your Main Goal, read it again. Go to your to do page and see what tasks need doing TOMORRROW; be sure if you put call George also write down his phone number. Keep things simple. Write only the tasks that need done TOMMOROW so you can quite carrying and worrying about things, holding them in your mind while you try to be productive. Don’t worry, now they are all written down for you and you can let it go.

Check your tasks page that has multiple things needing doing. Is there anything on it that needs done TOMORROW? Notice I keep coming back to looking at each day, one day at a time.

Once written down, look it over, is everything there? Did you overbook yourself and need to simplify your life or are you in or out of balance to achieve your goals both business and family.

One more bit of help. Have both a pencil and highlighter in your day timer. Write out all your lists in pencil as things will need to adjust and change as priorities change. Crossing out ink makes a mess and clutter slows productivity, even in a day timer. Now as you complete any task, take the yellow high liner and mark through it so you can easily see your victories. If I’ve called George for example but only got the message machine, I’d put yellow line ½ through it so I know its started but not done.

At the end of the day this gives you a very visual report of your progress. I guarantee it will when followed every day, distress your life (because you aren’t having to hold so many things in your mind) and it will give you a real look at how you work, where you scatter your energies and what you need to shift. In a home based business it is critical you become your very best employer and the very best employee if our income opportunity is going to be a success.
