Scams - They are out their looking for YOU!

Want to have a Highly Successful Home Based Business?

Then you must get Smart and avoid the Scams. First rule: If they promise ‘Get Rich Quick’, pay your money and little if any work; you’ll be rolling in dough! Don’t walk – Run!

Any truly honorable and valuable home based business will take time, energy, investment (yes that means $) and a learning curve. Having a team mentorship will definitely increase your chance of success.

I always suggest someone is earning twice their ‘JOB’ income before they consider going full time with their home business. Also stay balanced with family, good values, an organized work schedule and a strong dedication to work hard and consistent for yourself. Most every successful person I’ve met says they worked much harder and longer for themselves than they ever did for some employer.

There is an old adage that says: “People work just hard enough so that they don’t get fired AND Boss will pay you just enough so that you don’t quit.” Well, if by chance that is your life philosophy, Do Not Start Your Own Business! It feels really rough when you need to fire yourself.

Avoiding Scams

Scams are all around us. Sometimes it seems like there is more dishonesty on the Internet than legitimate opportunities. For this very reason, it pays to do your preliminary homework. Note the word “preliminary.” Check all companies, opportunities and products out first. Don’t be like many and find out the bad news after you’ve parted with your hard-earned money.

I suggest you create a file and bookmard several of these to be there for you as needed.

Consumer Affairs

Consumer Affairs, according to their website, is “a non-partisan, independent information provider.” They have also been around as long as dirt…or pretty close. Your parents called consumer affairs to complain about companies. I know mine did.

At the consumer affairs website, you can file a complaint via their complaint form, learn about the lemon law and read all the alerts on the “Scam Alert” page. It’s a great resource!

Internet Crime Complaint Center

This site is a partnership of the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center. They have a form for filing a complaint and good information on all the scams that are running rampant on the Internet today. Well worth checking out and bookmarking.

Fraud.org

You will find some great tips lists and other information listing at Fraud.org as well as a complaint form if you feel you have been scammed.

Scambusters

This website is updated daily, and has been helping people avoid scams since 1994. It is an excellent resource when checking out an unfamiliar business opportunity.

Work at Home Scams

One must read is their work-at-home tip list.

Google

One of your best tools is to use Google Search wisely. Look up the CEO's of a company, key people involved, track record. People will hit the forums with any negitive information --- just remeber, is it really a bad business OR someone who just didn't do the work or is trying to sell you something else.

***************************************

Now I do not mean that just because you find a business challenging that it is scam. Do your homework and create a well thought out business plan. That is where a business mentor or mentor team can save you a lot of time and money.

My goal is to decrease your learning curve and increase your earning curve. How can I suggest such an idea? Because I’ve surrounded myself with leaders in many areas of the internet and web industry, from marketing, design, SEO and more. Interested? Give me a call.
